Trombonist and arranger Eric Crees compiled and adapted select songs and symphonic works from Leonard Bernstein's successful 1957 musical "West Side Story."
"West Side Story" is loosely based on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet"
The "Cool" fugue, the mambo and the song "Somewhere" are among the excerpts he focused on.
Under the direction of Thomas Clamor, the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble showed off their versatility -- even adding in song and dance -- in their performance at the 2007 Beethovenfest.
