Islamic Relief has Become a Successful Aid Organisation
A new aid organisation supports Muslims and non-Muslims alike
It began with the famine in Sudan and Ethiopia in 1984. Doctor Hany El Banna form Birmingham in England organised the first humanitarian-aid deliveries for the needy population in the region. This was how the Islamic Relief aid organisation came into existence. The spontaneous initiative continued its operations beyond this catastrophe and within a few years developed into an international network with numerous regional and local organisations. Today, Islamic Relief’s offices receive donations from 11 European countries.
