Family Business – Mustang: Jeans from Baden-Wuerttemberg straddle the world.

In 1948, a US soldier swapped six pairs of American jeans for six bottles of Schnaps. Thus Albert Sefranek began to make the first German jeans: the 'Mustang'.

Sixty years on, the family firm has survived testing times. First ridiculed, the company had to compete with cheap chain store jeans, so son Heiner Sefranek moved production to Asia. But Mustang is still a German family business. Wife Jacqueline manages Bognor Jeans, daughter Verena is in charge of web design and son Axel is studying. And the firm's founder, Albert Sefranek still comes by each day. Our Topic in Cooperation with Handelsblatt.
