Foreign Bureaus

DW maintains bureaus in Washington, Moscow, and Brussels. In addition DW works with the correspondents of the German public broadcasting network ARD throughout the world.

Studio Washington

Located on M Street in Northwest Washington. DW-RADIO and DW-TV, employs both permanent, full-time and freelance, German and American journalists, technicians and producers. The Studio in Washington is headed by Rüdiger Lentz.

Studio Moscow

Studio chief Alexandra von Nahmen says Russia remains a difficult assignment for journalists. Freedom of the press remains an inseparable cornerstone of Russia's development as a democracy.

The DW studio is located in the northern Grusinskij Pereulok district of the Russian capital.

It is a small but multi-functional studio, equipped with multimedia capabilities. The newsroom also serves as a live broadcast studio for both television and radio. The DW Russian service has an ISDN link to the main headquarters in Bonn.   

DW marketing is also a permanent fixture in Moscow. Promotional videotapes and information material in many forms are distributed from here throughout the Russian federation.

Studio Brussels

Studio head Christian F. Trippe leads a predominantly female staff. Brussels is the longest serving DW foreign bureau and for over two decades DW-RADIO has had permanent fulltime correspondent in the European capital.

DW-TV has been present in the city known for its beer and French fries since 1992. The joint radio and TV studio located at Rue de la Loi 223 is only a few steps away from the European Commission, and other Brussels landmarks. EU and NATO issues are the stories most often reported from Brussels. The flagship programs from Brussels include DW-TV's European Current Affairs and Weekly Magazine European Journal.

Our parliamentary staff in the Federal Press Center in Berlin, located close to the Reichstag - the parliament building - and the Chancellery, has an inside perspective.

Some 40 colleagues of  DW-TV and DW-RADIO work on the top floor of the Press Center at the Schiffbauerdamm, with an unobstructed view of the Reichstag's glass dome. Head of the Parliamentary editorial staff and responsible for People and Politics, DW-TV´s political magazine, is Alexander Kudascheff, deputy chief editor of DW-TV.
