Istanbul world heritage site status challenged
Special investigators from UNESCO have had Istanbul under the microscope this week
The U-N’s cultural body slammed the city two years ago for failing to conserve it’s historical treasures. Now the group has to decide what to do with Istanbul’s coveted status as a world heritage site.
