Walking through Brandenburg: in the footsteps of Theodor Fontane in the Havelland
Federal State Brandenburg
Theodor Fontane spent 30 years traversing Brandenburg, discovering its corners and niches and 25 years writing about it.
It all culminated in the publishing of his work "Walks through the Mark Brandenburg" which serves as a comprehensive travelogue and artistic collection of Fontane's impressions of what he saw, heard, smelled, tasted and felt in his journeys there. Discover Germany touches on but a few of these impressions as we take a look at Schwielow lake, the story of the Squire from Ribbeck's pear tree, and King Wilhelm III's summer residence at Paretz. Come enjoy this colorful starter to the feast that Fontane's collected works represent.
