Caputh Palace – A stroll through the summer residence on the Havel River
Federal State Brandenburg
The Great Elector used to like coming here from Potsdam by water. Nowadays, the Weiße Flotte line runs several ferries to Schloss Caputh every day. The Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg had the "Summer Palace on the Havel" built in 1662: later on he gave it to his second wife, the Electress Dorothea, as a present - as was just and proper for a devoted spouse.
