Teenage Actors Delve Into German History
12-year-old Jew David Rubinowicz wrote in a diary about his experiences during the Holocaust. Now the Youth Theatre Group in Munich is bringing his story to life.
The Three-Quarter Year of David Rubinowicz is a play which deals with the reality and pain of a young boy and his time in the Treblinka concentration camp in Poland.
The young actors are all aged between 14 and 19 and have been forced to deal with the difficulties of trying to bring this tragedy to the stage. For many of them, the experience became more than just playing a role in the spotlight.
