10 years of Venice’s most ”playfull” Music Festival
Just off the bustling tourist track, Venice’s maze of narrow streets lead into peaceful picturesque squares, making it the ideal venue for an outdoor music festival.
Italy’s most romantic destination – made up of islands, canals and bridges – Venice is also unique in being the only city in Europe where cars don’t create noise pollution. Every summer since 1998, for one Sunday only, Venice has held its very own giant international musical extravaganza, with groups playing everything from classical to jazz, bossanova to klezmer, and blues to rock in every corner of the city. The name of the festival is Venezia Suona: ‘Venice Plays’, and this year it’s celebrating its 10th anniversary.
