Musical Memory - An old violin tells a tale of German-French friendship.
On its 45th anniversary, the German-French Youth Office ran a competition for the most beautiful stories connected with souvenirs of exchanges from France.The winner was Rainer Huth, a French teacher from southern Germany who was given a dilapidated violin during his sojourn near Perpignan. He brought the instrument back to Germany, had it overhauled and now, years later, his daughter plays it.
