Rocking Out at the Love Parade
Each year thousands of techno music fans meet up in a different city in Germany for the love parade. This year's parade was in Dortmund, and DW was there to see all the action.
The Love Parade is the world’s biggest electronic dance music festival. It all began in Berlin in 1989, four months before the Wall fell, when it was held as a political demonstration for peace and understanding through music. Since then the Love Parade has grown hugely in popularity and now attracts DJs and music fans from all over the world.
This year’s celebration took place on the B1 Highway in Dortmund, where a section of the Autobahn was closed to accommodate nearly 40 floats and thousands of costumed ravers.
