Kosher Hotel Flourishes in Northern Italy
Travellers visiting Venice want to experience the charm of gondola drivers laughing and singing merrily as they paddle past. But the city wasn't always so charming.
In the 16th century, the city’s Jews were banished to a small island, where they lived for another 300 years, shut behind gates and ordered to lived under a strict curfew. Now an inn on this former Jewish ghetto island has been reopened. It’s attempting to turn the tide, and deliver special services for Jewish travellers.
