The Hermannsweg – Following the trail of the Cherusci through the Teutoburg Forest

We are off to the Teutoburg Forest where German tribes led by Hermann the Cheruscan ambushed and destroyed three Roman legions in the ninth century AD.
You won't come across any battles these days but there are some great walking tours to be enjoyed. For example the Hermann trail named after the brave warrior.
