Threat causes Tsvangirai to postpone return to Zimbabwe
The leader of Zimbabwe's main opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change, has postponed plans to return to the country due to an alleged plot to kill him. A party spokesman told reporters in Johannesburg that the MDC had received information from a credible source indicating that an attempt would be made on Morgan Tsvangirai's life shortly after he arrived in Zimbabwe. He said Tsvangirai had now put off plans to return indefinitely. Tsvangirai had been expected to return to Zimbabwe this Saturday to begin campaigning for the country's presidential run-off election to be held on June 27.
