EU targets airlines' sneaky charges
The European Parliament has agreed to require airlines to reveal the full cost of airfares in their face price. The measure targets the common practice of obscuring the true cost of tickets by leaving taxes and surcharges out of published fares. The new rule is to come into effect in August. Airlines will also be required to spell out more clearly services for which they charge extra fees.
