Victory Day

A sparrow peered out of a Soviet T-34 tank at the Soviet War memorial in Berlin on Friday, May 9. The vast memorial was built between 1946 and 1949 as a burial site for some 5,000 Red Army soldiers killed during the Battle of Berlin. Today, Russia celebrates Victory Day over Nazi Germany with a military parade in Moscow. The T-34 tank was among the first tanks that rolled into Berlin in 1945. Bildunterschrift:
