French Parliment rejects planting genetically modified crops

Genetically modified crops unwelcome

The topic of biodiversity and conservation includes food of course and France is Europe’s breadbasket.

This week the French parliament rejected a bill, that would have cleared the way for planting genetically modified crops. The vote is seen as a surprise setback to President Nicolas Sarkozy's government.
